Welcome to this page that will explain the process for joining St. James in discernment towards the call of a Priest-in-Charge. We are grateful for your interest in us and are already praying for you.
We are seeking a Priest-in-Charge for an initial term of three years, in recognition of a changed Church coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet we do so with the hope of building a longer-term pastoral relationship that will lead to the call of a Rector. If you sense that God may be calling you to serve, the next step in the search process will be for you to send us these documents:
A cover letter;
Your resume or CV;
Your Updated OTM profile.
You can email these to the Search Committee at stjames.search.hydepark@gmail.com. Please also copy the Rev. Canon Nora Smith, the Episcopal Diocese of New York’s Canon for Transition Ministry, at nsmith@dioceseny.org, with “St. James’ Hyde Park” in the subject line.
The application deadline is May 30, 2022.
We pledge to be in good communication with you in this next stage of discernment, including acknowledging that we have received your application. We also promise to maintain the confidentiality of your application. Very soon after the application deadline, the Search Committee will begin the work of prayerfully considering all applications and will keep you informed as we move, then, to the next stage of discernment. Our hope is to extend an invitation to our new priest sometime this summer.
